wet lease (plural wet leases)

  1. (aviation) An agreement in which an airplane, including crew, maintenance and insurance, is leased to another organisation, usually for a short period of time.
    The airline is operating a plane owned by another airline under a wet lease.
  2. Any similar arrangement for other types of equipment.
